Andy has extensive experience assisting music, technology, Internet, mobile, gaming, and entertainment industry clients with complex licensing issues, copyright and trademark issues, general contract issues, and corporate work. Andy has represented many leading digital and mobile entertainment and technology companies, as well as content and music companies, game developers and publishers, and a wide variety of new media creators, providers, aggregators, and distributors. Prior to joining WSMB, Andy was Senior Counsel at MasurLaw where he advised clients in a number of industries: mobile (Buongiorno, Upoc, txttunes, FunMobility, Catalyst Mobile, Zingy, Vindigo, Virgin Mobile, Yamaha); software and technology licensing (MusicIP, Omnipod, Diversion Media); music (Muze, Insound, CD Baby); film and video production and branded entertainment (ILL Clan, Sharp Left, Rust); games (Glow Interactive, Massively Mobile, PlayTV, Powerful Robot) and fashion/art/branding (Gana Art, JC Report, Sharps, J. Fold, Purpose-Built, Antony Todd).

Prior to joining MasurLaw, Andy was Counsel at Brown Raysman Millstein Felder & Steiner, where he worked in the Information Technology, Media and Entertainment Practice Group. He has represented large music companies in connection with licensing and copyright issues related to digital distribution and peer-to-peer file sharing. He also has worked closely with music publishers, producers, composers, artists and performers with respect to all license and copyright issues, including copyright termination and renewal, performance and synchronization licenses, and contractual disputes.

Andy started his career at Thacher Proffitt & Wood where, after several years practicing commercial litigation, he was instrumental in starting and expanding the firm's intellectual property practice.

Andy is a frequent speaker at industry events on wireless and digital distribution of music and other content and related licensing issues. He also co-wrote sections of the primary online music law class for the Berklee School of Music in Boston.

Andy received his J.D. in 1990 from New York University School of Law and his B.S. in 1987 from Colgate University (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa).
